About Us Island Marine Services is a company formed by Capt. Tim Voss to provide single base for the numerous marine related ventures and joint ventures with other qualified mariners and craftsman he has become involved in over the years. The company offers several services on a selective basis.
Vessel Management: Provide limited to complete vessel management services. Crewing, payroll, purchasing, maintenance, safety, inspections, route planning and itineraries, and numerous other items. full carpentry and other refit services from small projects to major interior refits. Custom design work for interior renovations. Solid team of craftsman available.
Marine Product Distributor: Distributor of diesel fuel conditioners and polishing products for Fuel Tech Industries (formerly Diesel TeX).
Marine Surveying: Condition and Valuation surveys are done on sailboats and powerboats. Some commercial work is done, but on a very limited basis. Commercial fishing vessels can also be done and inspected for compliance to the Fishing Vessel Safety Act. Small passenger vessels and charter yachts can be inspected for compliance with all U.S.C.G. safety regulations. All in depth surveys of engines and mechanical systems are subcontracted to a qualified marine engineer and surveyor.
Marine Consulting: Provide technical advice on systems, vessel layouts, and rigging for yacht owners, small passenger vessel owners, and fishing vessel owners. Help vessel owners put into practice a crew safety and training system. Offer voyage planning and itineraries for yacht owners and bare boat charters. Facilitate owners in navigating through various government regulatory agencies and provide assistance in bringing and keeping vessels in compliance with current US laws. Assist owners in drafting and implementing vessel security plans, safety management systems, evaluation of risk.
